Planning has been granted for this major new hotel development in Birmingham, comprising of a 260 bed 3* hotel with leisure and conferencing facilities, a 150 bed apartment hotel and 14 roof top apartments. The project is designed to contribute to the city skyline with the 3* hotel located in a 25 storey tower fronting the main road. Public routes are to be formed through the site creating permeability and activity to frontages. The design emphasises the lower stories of the building containing the public accommodation as an identifiable form with a scale and mass reflecting the adjacent buildings, thus making a positive contribution to the activation the Street helping to redefine the urban edge.
