In conjunction with D5 Architects initial feasibility study for the extension of Pier D, D5 Architects also undertook a strategic feasibility study to review the future development prospects for the existing Pier B. Pier B currently serves the premium airlines operating from Dublin, with the majority of stands air-bridge served. The Pier also accommodates a United States of America immigration facility for outbound passengers to clear them for entry to the USA before their trans Atlantic flight. The existing pier is aged and of limited capacity, the study was therefore undertaken to review development options of the Pier to meet the airports masterplan projected stand demand, mix and passenger numbers.
