D5 continued their relationship with North East Worcestershire (NEW) College for this first phase of refurbishment of the Sixth Form College at Redditch. The scheme re-clad the existing 1980's and 1990's buildings to create a unified external expression and improved environmental performance in preparation for the subsequent internal refurbishment phases by D5.
The design seeks to balance harmonisation of the building within the campus, whilst projecting a clear identity for the sixth form. This is achieved through the use of a neutral cladding panels highlighted with vibrant colours where cut back into window reveals. This creates a more playful persona within the campus and adds a vitality to the building that was previously lacking.
