This extremely constrained and challenging site in Manchester, previously housed a highly abused and unsatisfactory coach station operating from the undercroft of a multi-storey car park. The project is driven from the customer experience and safety aspects coupled with operational requirements to create an open and welcoming facility projecting security and ease of use to customers.
The design creates a front of house public area with the coach waiting area behind but immediately adjacent to the point of embarkation. This design creates an intuitive experience for passengers placing minimal reliance upon signage or management of pedestrian flows.
